We understand that when a dog is in a new environment, they need time to investigate it and become confident that the studio is safe. There are many new smells, a strange dog photographer who they have never met before, and some things that flash, which are all very new and need to be thoroughly checked out.
When your dog enters our studio there is a lick mat with some food on it, lots of treats scattered all over the studio and a nice bowl of water. While your dog is investigating, eating and drinking, well you might as well do the same. We have a range of complimentary hot and cold drinks and chocolate snacks so tuck in take a seat and chill out because we are in no hurry to get you out of the door.
Once your dog has calmed down and is comfortable with the studio, we will start to take some pictures, as we take the pictures you will see them displayed on a 42” screen. Once your dog starts to show some signs of getting tired we take a break, have another drink and review the pictures taken so far. We will then discuss what pictures you would like next, perhaps a family shoot, or your dog chasing bubbles or catching treats. We have a changing room, a makeup station and if you have a little one we also have a microwave should you want to heat up any food.
After the second session, we will then have another drink and it is now time to pick which pictures you would like us to edit. Customers normally narrow the pictures of the session down to around 90 then 60, then 40 and very slowly we get it down to that magical number but it takes time and again I am in no hurry.
You should allow 3 to 4 hours for your Dog Photography experience, so please do not be in hurry, as we have to operate at the pace of your dog, and they are only ready when they are ready and we are not going to force them to do anything they don’t want to.
Around 2 weeks after your session you will receive your edited pictures and all you have to do is select which pictures you would like printed.
At JBS Dog Photography we are all about quality and not quantity hence we provide a Dog Photography Experience and not a Dog Photography Session.
